This photograph of the milky way was taken just outside the East Gate of Yellowstone National Park in Shoshone National Forest in Yellowstone. The starts were shining bright that night since there wasn't much moonlight and it was fairly close to the new moon. It is always a treat to be able to look up and see the galaxy on a warm summers night in the mountains!
